I've babbled of it over the past years, now it'll become reality! Robert and I will run for the HEW Cyclassics 2005 , one of the everyone road races in Germany.

The race will be held on July 31st, 2005 in Hamburg and we decided to take it slow, by choosing the short range course with 55 km.

Thus we won't need to do real training exercises on the track length, but our average speed makes me feel somehow pensive. My normal training avg speed is round about 28 km/h, but the broom truck will gather everone below 30 km/h - not even talking about the first half of participants that made the course with more than 40 km/h!

As this is our first participation in such a sports event, we don't have any experience with the general conditions under which you run the course. But Robert and I agreed in the fact, that running midfields will push up the average speed for two facts: There's a psychological boost running in the crowd and wind resistance will be lowered. Oohhh, and plus: We are running on MTBs instead of racing bikes! :-)
