" What Dieter and Michael are doing is so simple , there must be a chance to make such a large amount of money, even for us!" It's been Dieter Bohlen (Modern Talking, C.C. Catch) and Michael Cretu (Enigma, Sandra) that Torsten in 1989 was talking about.

Atari ST with Cubase

We were about to finish our high-school and we seemed to be the right guys for the job: Me with six years of organ and keyboard lessons and a sound computer knowledge, he with a home recording studio (based on the Atari ST) and both of us with many enthusiasm and even more time to spend into the project:

Let's produce music! Right from the studio. The sounds were cheap, but that was more part of the concept than it would have been due to lack of money. The nights were short - or at least they were too short for us - and we had a lot of yummy pizza from Torsten's mother.

During our production work the Berlin wall came tumbling down. Wow! Another big chance, a cool idea: Let's produce a song on that issue. We even had the great idea for a maxi version: Paul Hardcastle did it with Nineteen about Vietnam - let's do it with "Division Of The Hearts" about the end of that wall! - That's why our maxi version lasts more 7 mins, we had to fit in all that brilliant news coverage material!

All these aspects speak in one language: If all the others are, let's say "borrowing" their ideas - why shouldn't we?!

So, we took our own ideas, put'em into a big mixer together with all that pop music from then... voíla! Music Vibrations were born.

Neither Torsten nor me had a voice talent for singing and that's were Christoph came in. He became the voice of Music Vibrations.

To make a long story short: We produced one album, and it was a big megaseller. Well, somehow. We invested the last bucks we had into demotapes, that none of the labels wanted to have. But our relatives, friends and folks wanted to get a copy. And that's why I don't have hundreds of the tapes on stock, but only nearly hundred.
